Public Launch in Malawi Harmful Traditional Practices

Sep­tem­ber 2019: On July 10th, a del­e­ga­tion of the Uni­ver­si­ty of Zurich reached Li­long­we, the cap­i­tal city of Malawi, to par­tic­i­pate to the of­fi­cial launch of the re­port that CCWD pro­duced and that is ti­tled Tra­di­tion­al Prac­tices in Malawi.

The Re­port, which is co-au­thored by Med­son Mak­wem­ba of the Na­tion­al Sta­tis­ti­cal Of­fice of Malawi, Bless­ings Chinsin­ga, Chrissie Thak­walak­wa Kan­tukule, and Al­is­ter Munthali of the Cen­tre for So­cial Re­search of the Uni­ver­si­ty of Malawi, Mekon­nen Wold­e­gor­gis of UNICEF Malawi and Si­mon Haen­ni and Qingyang Lin, from CCWD at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Zurich, is the first of its kind in this coun­try. The pre­sen­ta­tion has been fol­lowed by a live­ly dis­cus­sion, show­ing how sen­si­tive this top­ic could be.
