June 2018: The Center for Child Well-being and Development at the University of Zurich entered into a partnership with Jacobs Foundation for the project “Harnessing differences to optimize learning”, which takes place in Ivory Coast.
The project builds on a program that is already underway in the country, which aims to increase parental engagement in their child’s education through a platform that allows schools to send notifications and messages to parents. The intervention has contributed to improvements in learning and literacy in similar settings in Latin America. This collaboration in Ivory Coast represents a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge about the science of learning, providing evidence for nation-wide educational interventions.
